Shake down cruise

We left Tidewater Marina bright and early on Friday, June 2, to head to Ipswich Marina for a haul out, bottom paint and wax job.  Since parts of the Deben River dry out at low tide, we anchored several miles down river intending to leave the Deben the next day.  Surprise!  The windlass didn't work and several gauges were on the blink.

John discovered that our 6 marine 'house bank' batteries were not holding a charge.  So back to Tidewater Marina at 6pm high tide during a thunder storm.  Luckily the starter battery was in good shape.

Today we are hopeful for a battery delivery and we will try again.  It's great to sort out these issues before we head to Helgoland.

Cheers!

  2. P.S. Hey, Cambridge ~ guess you won't consider using the 'Oxford comma' in such series as "... haul out, bottom paint, and wax job..." LOL😂!
